When the VisiKey software installation has completed you will need to tell the software where on the network to find the server.

To do this you must locate where on the the hard drive you have installed VisiKey (this is usually in C:\Program Files\Morley Electronics Limited\VisiKey) and then open the file called network.ini using any simple text editing software such as Notepad. See the following image.

You will notice that the first line of network.ini reads as ServerAddress=workstation2 this must be changed to the machine name or IP address of the PC that is running the VisiKey server.

Therefore, if the machine name of the PC running the VisiKey server was called reception then you would change the first line of network.ini to read as ServerAddress=reception

Alternatively, if the IP address of the PC running the VisiKey server was 10.100.100.1 then you would change the first line of network.ini to read as ServerAddress=10.100.100.1

After making the change you should save the new version of network.ini replacing the old version.

Now restart VisiKey and login as normal, VisiKey client will now be able to 'see' VisiKey server on the network.

Ensure that the network actually has TCP/IP installed and that the PC's running VisiKey have static IP address's assigned to them.

Problems:

Remote monitor will not allow you log on to VisiKey.
Ask your network administrator to ensure that the PC upon which the Remote Monitor is running can actually 'see' the PC upon which VisiKey is running. i.e. can you ping one PC from the other?

You can view user records on the remote monitor but no real-time transactions are visible.
Ask your network administrator to ensure port 4001 is enable for UDP broadcasts.

You can view transactions and user records but not photographs associated with the users.
You must manually create a directory called 'cache' in the same directory where Remote Monitor was installed.
