How To Set Sentinel Network Address

When selecting a network address for a controller, the controller will search the network to obtain currently assigned addresses and will not allow address duplication. It is therefore important to ensure that all controllers on the network are connected and powered up before assignment of network addresses. Any controller connected to the system with a duplicated address will be reconfigured to address 0 by the firmware to prevent network conflicts.

To set the controller address select 'PR05' from the programme menu and press 'ENT', the controller will then search the network for network addresses in use and prompt for the new controller address.

Enter the desired controller address using the keypad, if the selected address is a duplicate of an existing address the display will continue to prompt for valid address. When the new address is accepted the display will return to the program menu.

Address '0'
Indicates that the controller is a standalone unit with no network attached
Address '1'
Indicates that the controller is a "Master Controller" in a networked system
Addresses 2...16
Indicates that the controller is a "Slave Controller" in a networked system

When a Sentinel controller is to be configured as part of a networked system each controller must be assigned a network address, for correct operation one controller must be assigned as a "Master controller".

Available addresses are 0 to 16, two of which have special meaning.
