In some circumstances it may be necessary to transfer your installation of Sentinel Lite to a new PC whilst maintaining all of the software configuration, this includes card user details, photo-ID badges, controller configuration, network configuration etc.

This may be done by simply installing Sentinel Lite software onto the new PC, registering the new installation and then copying the data-base from the old PC installation to the installation on the new PC.

1)	Install Sentinel Lite on the new PC.

2)	Phone Morley Electronics Ltd to register the new installation.

3)	Close Sentinel Lite.

The data-base file is called VisiLite.mdb and can be found in the directory: C:\Program Files\Morley Electronics Limited\Sentinel Lite\

You should copy the VisiLite.mdb file on to a writable CD and then copy it from the CD to the same directory on the new PC.

Copying the file to a CD may result in the file becoming write protected, therefore after copying it on to the new PC you must also select the file properties for VisiLite.mdb and make sure it is not write protected.

5)	Selecting file properties for VisiLite.mdb

To select file properties for VisiLite.mdb, simply place the mouse cursor over the VisiLite.mdb file and press the right mouse button.

A menu will appear...

Now move the mouse cursor down to the Properties option and press the left mouse button.

The properties dialog will be displayed...

Make sure that there is no tick displayed in the Read-only attribute box.

If there is then remove it and press the Apply button then press the OK button.

If you now start Sentinel Lite you will find that all configuration details from the old PC are now in use on the new PC.

4)	Copy the data-base file from the old PC.
